All Day Festival at Canada Place in Celebration of our Nation’s 143rd Birthday
Vancouver, BC – We all remember the tremendous feeling we felt three months ago as we cheered on our country and came together in every corner of the city to support our athletes, wave our flags, sing our anthem and high five our neighbours as proud Canadians. Get ready to do it again as Canada Place proudly presents our 23rd Canada Day at Canada Place celebration, Thursday, July 1st in the heart of Vancouver. Our 2010 event begins at Canada Place under the iconic sails and stretches west along city streets to the harbour front. This year’s theme: Our Canada is all about what makes us proud of our country, and proud to be Canadian.

Followed by the Canada Day Parade at 7pm and Burrard Inlet Fireworks Show at 10:30pm

Experience Canadian artists on four stages with featured performances by Hey Ocean!, Carly Rae Jepsen, So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s Tara-Jean, Vincent and Jayme Rae, Il Voce, Rumba Calzada, Dal Richards, Whiskey Jane and many more! Inner Ring circus will mesmerize with their acrobatic skills and the BC Soccer World will showcase the great game of soccer, Kickin’s with the Stars celebrity match, a fashion show, interactive activities and soccer fun for the whole family.
Let’s sing so loud they’ll hear us in Ottawa! From every corner of the event we’re singing O Canada all together at noon when Canada Place’s Heritage Horns sound the first four notes of our national anthem. Meet Canada’s Army, Navy and Air Force heroes and pay tribute to the Navy’s 100th Centennial by witnessing a variety of demonstrations on the ground, in the air and on the water. The morning Citizenship Ceremony will once again welcome new members to our Canadian family in a heartfelt ceremony. Bouncy castles, mini golf, Teletoon, in the Harbour Green Adventure Park will provide nonstop action along with temporary tattoos, face painting, games and plenty of free giveaways.
The 2nd annual Canada Day Parade kicks of at 7pm on Georgia Street presented by the Burrard Inlet Fireworks Society and the Government of Canada. The day would not be complete without magic lighting up the night’s sky. The 4th annual Canada Day Burrard Inlet Fireworks Show is a two-barge fireworks extravaganza viewable from several communities and begins at 10:30pm.
